A crazy little storm hit in late April, splitting one of our pear trees in the front and uprooting a pine in the back. We've lived here for 7 years without a tree falling and BLAM two down in one night. It has turned out to be good thing because it's motivated us to really take an interest in our yard. There are quite a few things we've been neglecting with landscaping for too long. Thanks to a couple of helpful neighbors, we went ahead and cut both pear trees down in the front. Now you can actually see the house which is kind of nice.

Mike and Nathan also cut up the pine in the back that fell on the fence. Luckily damage to the fence was minimal. There is a dead pine back there that we are going to have to get removed soon or the house will be in danger. We do live in Pine Springs so this shouldn't be a surprise. Since the tree incident we've taken on several outdoor projects and have had quite a bit of fun with them. Anyway, you can see in the third photo how much more open the front yard is now. Attacking the boxwood shrubs was also long over due.
